Around the same time the missionaries in Ladakh started a newspaper, the two representatives of the Chinese Qing court, the ambans, started a newspaper in the Tibetan capital Lhasa. From 1907 until their expulsion around 1911, it was published every ten days and propagated policies and views of the Qing.
